Old photos from the past.

This was taking when I returned back to Taiwan in February 1989 during a meeting with fellow elementary classmates at a restaurant.  This is my 6th grade teacher and me.

This is my only pictures so far from my days in Chu Nan, where I spent my first and second grade with my sister Mu-En and my grandmother. The year would be around 1972-73.

When I first left Taiwan, I was still in communication with some of the classmates from elementary school.  This is 蔡美玲 from 1985 in 太魯閣.

Of all the letters I received, 史維 is the one that exchanged letters most frequent with me.  We were in touch by letters from the time we were first moved abroad.  I am in the United States, he is in Colombia.  The letter writing continued way into our college years.  Here are some of the pictures I received from him.

I went to church during the summer of 1985 after my first year at Rutgers.  I meet up with lots of asian friends during the 2 months I was there (Chinese Evangelical Church, Towaco NJ) Lots of good memories were from those two months there.  William, Janet, Winston, Elena Vicky, Pei Chien,Toots, and many others.  If you are reading this, leave me a comment.  I would love to get back in touch.

皇賓同學：不曉的你還記的我嗎？我是葉明智，曾經是與你在竹南國小的同班同學，我永遠都難以忘記民國64年9月轉學至中山國小，在初到一個完全陌生的環境裡，第一個來看我的朋友就是你跟你弟弟冠志，當時那股流過心中的暖流至今仍記憶猶新，多年後的今天在這偶然的機會，突然在網路搜尋中，想到鍵入你的名字，發現你的網業且看過你的照片，在我腦海中頓時浮現印象中你當時的童顏，我很肯定你就是那位老同學，激動又興奮之心情，令我整夜難以入眠，恨不得能馬上跟你見面！加上你照片中的同學史維，他也曾是我在新興國中葉茂雄老師家補習英數理化的同學，當年他移民去哥倫比亞卡利，我也曾以信件與其聯絡，這麼多年來粗心的我，竟把你們的聯絡地址給遺失了(我依稀記的以前你是住紐澤西吧！)，童年的回憶，想來都已是40年前的事了，而我們也已是近50歲的人了！想想已經好多年沒有這樣令我既激動又興奮的感覺了！晚安！




當我看到這信時，我簡直不敢相信我眼睛。我做這個部落格的目的之一，就是希望有朝一日，認識我的人可以借尤它來找到我。明智，你是第一個人。

印象中你好像是四年級搬到台北，我們同校卻不同班。小學後我到大直國中就讀，三年級初就到美國來了。

史維和我在來美國早期還有常常連絡，照片中的信你也看到了！後來讀大學後也就失連。大約在五年前我也是在網上搜尋中找到他後，抱著一線希望，寄了一張卡片才連絡上的。

這些年來我也有藉著上網來搜查一些小學同學的訊息，但是都沒有收穫。現在我們連絡上了就要保持噢！email寄些近照好嗎？

Nikon D3100 9/6/11

The last camera purchase was before our trip to Japan in July 2007.  It was a Canon point and shoot SD750.  Over the years it has serve me quite well.  So far I've taking over 8000 pictures with it.  Lately, I 've been searching for a new camera.

I am always fond of Nikon cameras.  Father brought me a Nikon F3HP when I was younger, always have a spot for photography in me.

Lately I have been looking for a new camera to replace my Canon.  I was considering a digital SLR for my next camera.  Canon T2i and Nikon D3100 were the two models I was considering.  Costco had the Nikon D3100 with two lens kit for $750($150 off).

I have since purchase and extra battery (EN-EL14) and two L1Bc Nikon Skylight filters for each lens.
