Breakfast at Doutor, a coffee shop with pastry and sandwiches. Getting ready for our onsen (hot spring) resort trip to Kasatsu.
Since we still have a while before our train trip we walk around the Tokyo train station. This is the pond just outside the Wadakura fountain park with a swan in view.
This is in front of the Wadakura fountain park just about 3 blocks from the Tokyo station. The water fountain doesn't start until 10 am :( so there wasn't any water in the background.
Our ticket from Tokyo To Karuizawa. Leaving at 9.20 am on the Asama superexpress train number 511, arriving at 10.32 am .
This shows the train in on platform 20, an 8 car train headed for Nagano, and we got about 16 minutes before the train leaves.

My wife drives a Honda Fit just like this one, too bad they don't come in pink in the US
There is a outlet shopping center just south of the station, we were browsing the stores before our bus departing for Kusatsu.
The vending machine in Japan sure is a lot more prettier and more selection then the ones we have back in the States.
After a little over an hour bus ride, we arrived at the town of Kusatsu. A call to the hotel and they send a car to pick us up at the bus station. Here are the names of all the guests that are staying at the hotel that night. Oh good, my online reservation went through, my name is on the board :)
Before we can check in (since we got there around 1 pm) we have a couple of hours to walk around town. This is a snap shot of streets in Kusatsu.
After all that walking we stop by a restaurant and order up some traditional Japanese noodle and rice.
In front of the restaurant, we ask the cashier to take the picture for us

This is the Yukata provided by the hotel. Each hotel has their own with different color and designs. When guest check in to the hotel, gust usually wear their Yukata around the hotel and outside when roaming between hot springs.
Before dinner, we take a walk at the Sainokawara park. All along the park, the hot springs are running down the hill from a hot source a few hundred feet above.
In front of the hotel after the walk.
Our in room dinner was served by a Japanese lady wearing traditional Kimono. We had such a lavish dinner that it was a feast to the eyes as well as our tummies.
